Genocide or Holy War? - Pioneer People

On Sunday evenings we've been working our way through the book of Joshua learning what about what it means to be a Pioneer People.
As Joshua is a story about the conquest of Canaan there has been lots of battles which have raised questions about the morality of such actions.
Sunday evening we have a discussion planned to address some of these issues and debate them together. It's a chance to look at some honest questions and wrestle with difficult answers.
We're not looking to brush the issues under the carpet and invite you to think about your response and how you approach this. If someone were to say to you the God of the Old Testament is all about violence and war read the book of Joshua - what would you answer be?
Is you want to do some reading around the subject feel free to check out the links below. You might not agree with all the views but they might help your thinking.
