The Persecuted Church Today
As we launch back into the book of Acts for our latest series: IGNITION: Faith Under Fire, we're looking at how the first followers of Jesus responded to the oppositon, threats, false accusations, unjust imprisonments and public prejudice and suspicion. Ever since, somewhere in the world, the Church has faced such persecution.
In C21st British society we are spared much of what they had to endure to call themselves Christian, and to live for Christ. Their legacy is that despite fierce opposition they stood their ground - and because of their faith, the Church still exists today.

However, they are Christians all over the world who still face all kinds of persecution for their faith, and yet deside to stand. One movement that exists to campaign their cause, is Christian Solidarity Worldwide. if you'd like to support them, the are many ways you can do that both prayerfully and practically.
You can find their website here.
"Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering..."
(Hebrews 13:1-3)
