On Sunday mornings we're looking at “The Big IF...” challenge - based on God’s promise to Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If My People, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and will heal their land...” – that’s one big IF, and one big challenge!

You may like to join with us in praying this simple prayer at lunchtime everyday during this challenge. It follows the flow and the themes of 2 Chronicles 7:14 - and there are spaces where you to add your own words to the prayer. Lord, we are Your people, Made for Your Glory,

            Bearers of Your Image

            Keepers of Your Promise

            United together in Christ Jesus!

You have called out of darkness into Your majestic light

            That we might shine Your goodness

            Show Your grace

            Stand for Your Name

Take time to think about your journey - and thank God for moments when You were aware of His Presence and Help

We humble our hearts before You

            We are nothing without You

            We have nothing besides You

            We can do nothing without You

Yet we are loved with everlasting love,

            Called to share in Your divine mission

            Crafted by Your hand

            Created for eternal life with You

Ask for humility is the tasks you have to do today - whether you feel good at them or not, ask for God's perspective on your life.

At your invitation we pray to You now,

            Hear the cry of our hearts,

            Help us to be our true selves with You

            Lead us to a place of deeper intimacy

We seek Your face, Lord God

            We want to know You

            We want to love You

            We want to be like You

Pray for those things that are on your heart right now - pay attention to how you feel and offer it to God as a deliberate act of worship.

We make a deliberate turn from the paths that lead us away from You

            We confess we so often miss the mark

            Forgive us our many failings

            Heal our hearts and help us to stand again.

Lead us in Your ways,

            May we walk in Your love

            Be guided in Your truth

            Be directed by You in the paths we take

Confess any specific sin - and be reminded of the Cross of Jesus, where all your guilt and shame were defeated...

Father of mercy, and Lord of hope

Hear from heaven

Forgive our sin

Heal our land

For Your Glory, and for the sake of the Church, Amen.
