Radio Wales starts Podcasting 'All Things Considered'

Radio Wales has become the first part of the BBC to podcast faith programmes. Fans of 'All Things Considered' who are still in bed when the programme is broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8.30am can roll over and get a few more minutes sleep in the comfort of knowing that they can download the programme to their PC and listen to it at any time on their MP3 player.
Downloading and podcasting are the latest things in radio. Downloading is where you can download a radio programme to your PC and listen to it on the PC whenever it suits you. Podcasting goes one step further in that the downloaded file can be transferred to an MP3 player such as an i-pod and listened to away from the PC at a time and place convienient to the listener.
To start podcasting, you first need to download a piece of free software such as Juice. Then you cut and paste the web address of the programme you want to podcast into the 'Add new feed ' section on Juice. Here is the podcast address for 'All Things Considered' . The clever thing is that once you have the podcasting software, your PC does all the hard work for you in that it automatically downloads the latest programme to you PC and to your i-pod whenever you synchronise it with your PC. There's no need to search out the file each week.
