Church Life

Introducing Summer Nights...

SN logo 4

What? A series of three fun-packed summer youth events with a Hawaiian flavour!

When? from 7:30pm till 9:30pm on Wed 25/08, Thu 26/08 and Fri 27/08

Where? @ Bethel Baptist Church

Who? anyone aged between 11 and 14 years of age

Why? to reach out to the large community of young people in Whitchurch and environs...to follow-up
those who have gone through the holiday club and are now too old...to provide a focus for those last few days of the school holidays when everything seems to be dragging...to stretch the summer

How? OK, this is where it gets interesting! As this is the first time that Bethel has run this event, we're going to need a lot of help. Thanks to those of you who have already contributed so many of your ideas. We're now at the stage where we need practical help. If anyone could provide any of the items on the list below, that would be very, hugely, magnificently helpful! If you have any practical ideas, the next meeting is being held @ 8pm on Thu 10/08 in the church lounge, all are more than welcome! And finally, we're setting up the church, putting up surfboards and palm trees and the like, on Tuesday the 29/08 in the evening (precise times tbc). And of course, this kind of event needs and thrives on prayer, so keep those prayers coming! It'd be great to see some of the older young people come to know Jesus, or just take another step along the journey towards faith.

If you've got any of the following, (and you'd be prepared to loan to us!) please let us know by adding your response below!

Apologies, the time of the meeting tomorrow (Thu) is 8pm...that's 2000hrs, not 730. I've changed the script in this document as well, in case ur wondering what I'm on about!

I believe thatn there is a smoke machine in the store room. Richard Lawson used it, I think at the 2005 Carols by candlelight service. We also have aquick put up gazebo as seen at the Holiday Club BBQ.

John

Apologies for not making the meeting, we had just returned from sunny France and it was David's birthday so we went out for a meal. Hope I didn't get pencilled in for 2 much in my absence!!

Anyway moving swiftly on!! I have a chocolate machine if you wish to use it. Also a volley ball (proper one Amy brought in France), a surfboard, beach towels, I think my mother may have a hammock and will investigate, cockttail glasses from Sam's 18th, hairbraiding threads which we used for Whitchurch Festival( could do with more beads and feathers if you want me to but some let me know), Playstation should you wish to borrow it.

Still bappy to do the BBQ and will cooridante with Ian and Joyce.
