WRVS Lunch Club

Every week, on a Wednesday, the church is full of noise from up to 40 older people who come in for lunch. Their ages range from the 60's up to the 90's, and they love to get together to have some company, a chat, and a lovely hot lunch.

A team of volunteers from the church, led by Aly Burnell and Ruth Marchant, spend the morning preparing a lovely cooked meal and pudding, and love getting alongside those that attend and have a laugh and a joke and trying to brighten up their lives.

Special events are also held - Christmas lunch in December, Valentines lunch in February, and this April they are going on a trip to the Bay to have Harry Ramsdens fish and chips!!

Reading this, I bet some of you can't wait until you get to the age when you are eligible to join up with this group too!
