About Baptists

In a Baptist church we follow Jesus example of baptism as seen in the Bible.  When a person has made a life choice to follow Jesus baptism would normally follow by immersion in water as a sign that a new life in Christ has begun. Following baptism a person is usually welcomed into membership of the Church.

Whilst as Baptist church we are autonomous we are also inter-dependent upon each other. Bethel is in membership with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Ireland and are actively involved in the local South Wales Baptist Association which networks Baptist churches together.

Our relationships with other Christians are important to us and so where possible we share links with churches from other Christian traditions and denominations. The church is actively involved with the network of churches across the city and in our local community.
