In case you don’t know Joe and Lois Ovenden – they’re an awesome couple who are serving with BMS World Mission in Gulu, Uganda, and they also happen to be our amazing partner workers!
Joe has a masters degree in International Development (specialising in Conflict Resolution) and is supporting loads of local community projects, but with a special focus on discipleship outside of a church context.
Lois previously worked in a specialist community brain injury rehabilitation centre in Sheffield, and is now using her speech and communication therapy skills – especially in supporting the “Globetrotters” school.
They have three gorgeous kids: Connie, Reuben and Eleanor – and they’re just a fab family.
We have been offered the chance to catch with them virtually this Sunday at 4pm on zoom. They are also partners with Ararat Baptist Church, so we’re joining together to hear how the work is going, how they are coping, and also have the opportunity to ask questions and pray for them!
If you can join us, we’d love to see you there!
Jonathan Vaughan-Davies is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Also on this Sunday evening (7pm on zoom) is the next SWBA Prayer Gathering for Wales – these have been really excellent (see Jon’s blog following the last one here). They’re an opportunity to gather with brothers and sisters across the nation – with no pressure to have to join a breakout room or pray out loud. Jon’s leading parts of the prayer time with regional minister Rev. Mark Fairweather-Tall.
