Welcome to news and roundup.

As we are unable to gather on Sundays during this COVID-19 crisis, we still wanted to find as many ways as possible to remain connected together and share news and updates among the fellowship.

Sunday Morning 16th May  I 10.30am  I How to Make an example of yourself – 1 Timothy 4:12  I With Guest speaker Tim Barker

It is estimated that up to 95% of young people in the UK have never heard the gospel or have any religious standings. 95% seems like an insurmountable number, but we believe in a God that can do all things. Let’s pull some courage and learn from the Bible to step out and be disciples where we find ourselves.

Children and Youth

Bethel Kids   So this week, Tim and Jon have done the old switcheroo – with Tim preaching and Jon reclaiming the red sofa!! Today we get to sample the next Fruit of the Spirit – which is… (drum roll please… wait for it…. wait for it……. wait… for…. it………) PATIENCE! (See what I did there!) We’re also making the next piece of fruit (mangos = patience for some reason… ask Tim!) for our ME Tree. How awesome is that?

Bethel Teens Following on from our awesome “Encounters with Jesus” series. Last week we met Jesus in his full divine nature by tackling a small part of Revelation- this week we tack a bit more of a look at Revelation, understanding how we are to read this book, why it is different from other books in the Bible, and what do all the symbols and things mean. In Teens we get a chance to chat about the week, and have some fun with a game or two. Join us on a Tuesday night on zoom, contact Tim for Joining details.

Bethel Youth Over the next few weeks we are taking a step back from any series or study and having a bring and share set up.  Join us on a Friday at 8pm on zoom, to discuss the week, how your course is going, and bring and share your latest devotions that have spoken to you.

Family News

We rejoice with Tim & Catherine Pickles and give God praise and thanks on the safe arrival of their son James Kenneth Pickles who was born at 4.05am on Wednesday 11th May, weighing 8Ibs 12.5oz. Catherine and James are doing well.  The girls are very excited to meet their baby brother.  We send them our love & congratulations.
Can we please pray for Pat Walford, (former Bethel member.) He became very confused and disoriented on Monday 10th May and it turns out that  he has had a brain haemorrhage. Tuesday night he had a drain put in to release the pressure, but remained confused. On Wednesday they tried to close the aneurysm, but failed as it was too big. On Thursday 13th May  they are planning to insert a stent to try to block it off.

If you know of anyone who doesn’t have internet access and would appreciate the Sunday sermons on a CD or USB stick, please let Lorraine know and she will arrange to have these sent to them.

Lorraine is working from home and is contactable via email. Lorraine goes to the office once a week to check the answer machine, post and all buildings
