Cake Sale and Donations to help with Summer Youth Camps
Whilst the youth are normally the ones consuming the cakes, we thought we would change things up! They will be running a cake sale on Sunday the 29th of June, in order to raise funds for their summer camps. THIS IS TAKING PLACE TODAY
As we all know the cost of things is going up, and camps are no different. Whilst we have tried to maintain the costs as much as possible, the reality is that transporting safely and feeding 16 young people, and 5 leaders requires funds. As a youth team we thought it would be great to try and raise some funds to help with the costs. The young people like cake, so we thought a cake sale would be a good start.
On the day we can take cash or electronic / card payments. There will be a guide price for cakes, but donations are welcome too. You can also contact the church treasurer Steve Pettit to see how you can make a donation.
Some people like to give regardless, some like to know numbers, so if you feel led to support a young person to attend, or contribute to the transport costs, or van hire, here are the figures:
Cost to send a young person (including food and fuel) : £85
Van costs: Approx £300
Mini bus: currently negotiating price
As a side note, if anyone has access to or knows a van or minibus that we could utilise on the weekend of July 11th 12th and 13th please get in touch.
If you would like to give to our summer camps you can also click the link below and donate. Many thanks.

Summer Young Peoples' Groups-Can you Help?
Over the summer, the young peoples' groups on a Sunday Morning will be shutting down, to give the amazing teams running them a bit of a break.
In their place, as an option for the young people on a Sunday morning, the church lounge will be set up with some activities- a Bible video, colouring in, some games, Lego etc.
We need some people to watch over the sessions, and so are appealing for some volunteers. It will be to cover the 4 Sundays in August and you would need a current church DBS to volunteer.
Dates needed: August 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.
Prayer Times
There are a couple of opportunities each week to join with others for a time of prayer. Monday Evening at 7pm and/or Saturday morning at 10am both in the lounge. It would be great if you could join us.
Crafty Chatters
Crafty Chatters meets on the first Friday of every month at the new time of 6pm - 9pm in room 5 in the church hall (please note the venue change). All are welcome to come for as long or short a time as you can and if you are dropping children / youth to any of the clubs why not drop in for a tea or coffee and a chat whilst you wait. The next meeting is on the 4th July
Coffee Mornings and Service
The coffee mornings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A lovely time to meet together to chat and share in fellowship. Please note that the next Coffee Morning will be on the later date of the 15th July.

If you're available and willing to help please speak to Cathy Stroemer who is taking the lead co-ordinating the practical side of their trip. Giving
As a Baptist church, Bethel is entirely self-funded by the giving of its members and those who attend regularly. If you’d like to support our ministry and mission in an ongoing way – we can do so either by placing donations in the offering box on the Bible shelves near the sound desk, pay by contactless giving on the phone there, or by bank transfers.
Please see the following information about the way the church is funded. Many thanks. There are also QR codes in various places in the Church Lounge and Church hall for you to scan to support the ministry and mission of the church if you so wish.

Easy Fundraising
Easy Fundraising is a simple way to support Bethel without it costing you anything. It’s a way of raising money for the church when you shop online, either using your computer or a smartphone. You can find more information at
www.easyfundraising.org.uk. You’ll need to sign up (it’s free) and then either install an app for your phone or there’s a plugin for your web browser. The website guides you through the simple steps to do this. It will also ask you to ‘Find a cause’, so if you look for Bethel Baptist we’re the only one on there at the moment. .

We have a cleaning rota at the moment made up of a lovely team of volunteers. Some people have had to drop out recently for various reasons, so we're asking again if anyone might have some time in the month at all to help with the cleaning duties. You can do as much or as little as you like! If you would like to volunteer or find out more of what is involved, please let Lorraine in the office know. Many thanks.

Weekly Groups
Bethel Tots on a Wednesday afternoon from 1-2.30 pm for 0-5 year olds.
Bethel Kids on a Friday night between 6pm and 7:15pm in the usual place, this is still for school years 4 - 7. Please encourage the young people to share with friends
