Prayer Times

There are a couple of opportunities each week to join with others for a time of prayer. Monday Evening at 7pm and/or Saturday morning at 10am both in the lounge. It would be great if you could join us.

Whitchurch Litter Hub here at Bethel

This is now in operation for everyone in the community and is open in the Church office from 9am-1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Please speak to Lorraine if you want to find out more.

Womens' Walking Group

The Walkie Talkies are a group of women who meet once or twice a month for short, local walks and a chat. Come and join us if you'd like some fresh air and friendship, and feel free to invite your friends! We tend to walk for about an hour, but you can join for as little or as much as you like - no fitness level required, some of us are slow walkers!  If you'd like to join the WhatsApp group, just chat to Sarah Hodges or Esme Farewell.

Crafty Chatters

Crafty Chatters meets on the first Friday of every month from 6pm - 9pm in room 5 in the church hall. All are welcome to come for as long or short a time as you can and if you are dropping children / youth to any of the clubs why not drop in for a tea or coffee and a chat whilst you wait.

Coffee Mornings and Midweek Service

The coffee mornings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11am in the Church Lounge.  A lovely time to meet together to chat and share in fellowship.  The midweek services take place on the 4th Tuesday of the month in the Church.

Korean Group Visiting

Save the date in your diary!
Monday July 6th - Monday July 13th

A group of Christians are coming from Korea on a mission trip to pray WITH and FOR the church and our community.  They will be staying at the church so there will be lots of opportunity to serve them.
This was a wonderful time last year.  Don't miss out on this tremendous blessing, as we seek the Lord with our Korean brothers and sisters.

If you would like to be on the planning team please contact the church office Please support this with your prayers and attendance at the various services and events.  Details to follow.

Sabbatical

Please pray for Tim and his family as he takes a sabbatical for the month of May.  Pray for a time of renewal and refreshment for him.

Family News

Huge congratulations to Brian Harris who celebrated his 90th birthday recently.  Sending many happy returns from all of your friends here at Bethel.

We have to pass on the sad news that Jeanne McQuistin passed away peacefully but suddenly on Monday the 11th May. Her loyal and caring trusted friend Agnes was unfortunately not with her as she was celebrating her marriage in Scotland.
Jeanne was a wonderful lady who it was a real privilege to get to know. When she was well enough to attend, hers and Agnes presence lit up the church with a rich sense of joy, encouragement and faith. We are so grateful to God that we got to meet her and share a little of her journey with her - and so grateful for the amazing grace of God that has now carried her home. Please keep  her family and Agnes in your prayers.

Can you Help....?

We are looking for people to join our sound and vision team and also our tea/coffee rota.  If you think you can help, or to find out more, please contact Lorraine in the office office@bethelcardiff.org.uk

Giving

As a Baptist church, Bethel is entirely self-funded by the giving of its members and those who attend regularly. If you’d like to support our ministry and mission in an ongoing way – we can do so either by placing donations in the offering box on the Bible shelves near the sound desk, pay by contactless giving on the phone there, or by bank transfers.

Please see the following information about the way the church is funded. Many thanks. There are also QR codes in various places in the Church Lounge and Church hall for you to scan to support the ministry and mission of the church if you so wish.

Easy Fundraising

Easy Fundraising is a simple way to support Bethel without it costing you anything. It’s a way of raising money for the church when you shop online, either using your computer or a smartphone. You can find more information at www.easyfundraising.org.uk. You’ll need to sign up (it’s free) and then either install an app for your phone or there’s a plugin for your web browser. The website guides you through the simple steps to do this. It will also ask you to ‘Find a cause’, so if you look for Bethel Baptist we’re the only one on there at the moment.
You can help us WIN a £250 donation prize in easyfundraising's giveaway! Bethel Baptist Church will get a FREE entry each time a new supporter signs up this week! It only takes a moment and it's completely free, so please get involved if you haven't already - this would really boost our fundraising: https://join.easyfundraising.org.uk/bethel-baptist-church/A5NVX7/s2s/E7OVWoL0/PMC03/whatsapp/

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Where and When

The church is open for activities throughout the week but if you are just seeking us out it is likely that you will want to come and be a part of our Sunday worship which is core to what we are about.
We meet in the main church building (details here) at 10:30 each week. See our calendar to find out plans for the next few weeks.

Accessibility

There is wheelchair access and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer and church lounge.

Our Sunday Services

Sunday morning services are structured but informal. They include a mix of both contemporary and traditional worship songs and hymns, prayers, readings from the Bible and a sermon that unpacks this. Occasionally we will also have specific updates about ways that God has been working through and in people and activities. Once a month we celebrate communion as part of the service. The last Sunday of the month is usually an Altogether Service when all ages are all together in one place for a more relaxed and activity based time of worship.

We aim to finish at about 11.45 to Midday when we serve free tea, coffee and cold drinks. This is a great opportunity to get to meet people.

Sunday Evening services, either in person or online, tend to be shorter and more reflective and are an opportunity to dig a little deeper into our relationship with God.

What about the children and youth?

We have a great programme for children of all ages, for more information about what happens please visit our Children and Youth page.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

It is often in smaller gatherings that we can really get to know other people. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some in the afternoon and some in the evening either in the church, in peoples’ homes or online    .
If you are interested in joining a Small Group, let us know and we can put you in touch with the small group coordinator who will be more than happy to find a group that is convenient for you and introduce you to the group leader.

Get Involved

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the life of our church. If you'd like to find out more, please let us know.
